MEET SANTANA This month's featured bird is Santana, an 8 year old Scarlet Macaw. Before arriving at The Gabriel Foundation, he lived in two homes – he lost the first one when his owner died and the second one when his owner had unexpected life changes and was forced to move to a much smaller living situation. Santana is beautifully feathered and has a charming personality!  He is looking for a loving home with a person who understands Macaw body language and behavior.  It is clear from his disposition that he has had very positive experiences in his life.  Macaws require an abundance of space and activity in order to keep from becoming bored and destructive.  The ideal home would allow Santana time to be out and about a lot and provide a multitude of foraging and enrichment opportunities.  He does not have a history with children or other pets but we are working hard at the Aviary to help him gain those experiences.
