FEATURED BIRD

MEET MOZART

Mozart is a Peach Fronted Conure (Aratinga aurea). He came to us in December 2007, after a good Samaritan rescued him from an overcrowded, inadequate care situation.  Little is known about Mozart’s life prior to arriving at TGF, except that he spent about a year with this interim family.  Believed to be a younger bird (best guess 3-6 years old), he was shy and had no reference for being handled.  He was chosen for our Focused Training Program here at the Aviary and Adoption Center, as he seemed to have a genuine desire to learn to interact with people.  In just a few short training sessions, Mozart learned to step up nicely and enjoys the one on one attention he receives.  We have not seen him interact well with the other conures in his flight so he would probably do best in a one bird home. He is a fairly quiet for a conure (in comparison to others in the Aratinga family!) and we all see great potential for Mozart in the right home.

If you are considering adoption and are interested in meeting Mozart or any of the other wonderful birds in our adoption program, you will need to complete our Confidential Adoption Application to begin the process.  Visit our Adoption page for more information.
