VOLUNTEER If you would like to volunteer your time to help us at the The Gabriel Foundation facilities, please contact us: 1025 Acoma St. Denver, CO 80204 Phone: (303) 629-5900 Fax: (303) 629-5901 education@thegabrielfoundation.org We welcome the interested public, rescue, sanctuary, welfare organizations, veterinarians and members to participate in hands-on care of the aviary and the birds. The Foundation willingly provides its materials to interested volunteers to distribute appropriately in their local area. The Foundation developed a volunteer training manual for training, teaching, educational and safety purposes. The aviary hosts family fun, on-site volunteer work weekends and picnic lunches at the aviary quarterly throughout the year. Volunteer Application Our Volunteer Orientation Meeting is November 8 from 12pm - 2:30pm at the Aviary and Adoption Center. MEET OUR VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH!   September's Volunteer of the Month is Jean Hanson! Jean has been a long time supporter of The Gabriel Foundation.  She “rescued” Snowy, a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo from a bad situation with the intent of putting her in one of TGF’s programs. Instead Jean and Snowy became quite attached to eachother and Snowy moved in! That was in 2007, and they continue to live in perfect harmony! Living in Fort Collins, her ability to come to volunteer events has been limited, but she has attended many of our educational events over the years. Jean’s background in graphic design, writing and marketing makes her an incredible asset to TGF.  Recently, she designed, printed and donated 500 full color brochures about TGF to be used with our marketing materials.  If your veterinary clinic doesn't already display these wonderful, informative brochures, please contact us so that we can send some your way - and help to introduce others to the programs of The Gabriel Foundation!  The next project Jean has proposed is a short video about TGF. We can't wait to see what she comes up with this time!  Jean has demonstrated that volunteer opportunities present themselves in such a variety of ways – all very appreciated.
