Why Groom at TGF?

Our expertise in caring for your bird is veterinary-supervised. Your birds deserve compassionate handling, restraint, and species-appropriate grooming in a clean and safe environment. Grooming by a veterinarian with a special interest in avian medicine is available at The Gabriel Foundation on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month at 1025 Acoma, and on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the Aviary & Adoption Center in Elizabeth.

Whether your bird is groomed by TGF’s veterinarian, Noel Opitz, DVM, or Kris Ahlgrim, DVM, of GoldenView Veterinary Hospital, you can be assured that you and your bird will receive the best information about nutrition, planning for your bird’s veterinary needs. Your bird will be treated as a beloved family member with considerate handling, clean, fresh towels, species-appropriate grooming, weight monitoring, and a chance for you to ask the vet a question or two about your feathered friend. Our thanks to Dr. Ahlgrim who generously donates her time and expertise in support of TGF and to Dr. Noel Opitz for her diligent supervision in caring for your birds.
